The Yoofs
After such a capable performance tonight these young lads deserve their own thread.

As we've seen in the past, young highly promising talent can easily lose their way, but one in a hundred go on to greater things.

Oliver Scarles, at just 16, looked way beyond his years tonight, yet Declan Rice was released at that age. Goes to show how between the ages of 15 - 20 a career can go either way.

Really ?
Some players actually play better at a higher level believe it or not.
Yes there may have been space for Scarles but it was his delivery every time that was the quality. You could bet a thousand quid that if Masuaku or Emerson were given that amount of space there wouldn't have been the quality in Scarles's crosses. I can't remember one poor cross he put in everyone could/should/did result in a goal.
Ashby is pretty much the same.
Mubama on another day couldof easily of had a hat trick. He might make it or not I'm not sure on him but next time he may have learnt a tiny bit and get that hat trick.
Scarles looked like a Bernardo Silva type player, passing the ball around quickly and looking for that space. He alos tracked back and put a couple of good tackles.

Re: The Yoofs
Youngsters actually making it through the ranks here nowadays and becoming top players like rice are as rare as hens teeth. We had a purple patch under carr and many promising prospects since that failed to make it ultimately. I like it but I’m not getting carried away.

Re: The Yoofs
Bring back the Football Combination league as it is better than the Premier League 2 rubbish.

Re: The Yoofs
Good shout on making them play before the first team, I think we should make them play in crocs so they don’t fuck the pitch up!

Re: The Yoofs
Be good to see them get another run out in the league cup.

That’s a couple of games worth of invaluable experience for youngsters.

Almost enough to put a smile on your face.

Re: The Yoofs
Get a grip. One decent performance against a glorified pub team that had just sacked its manager after a horrendous run of form, doesn't really tell us much.

Yes, young Oliver Scarles looked promising with all of the time and space he was given, but the rest are all write offs. None of them will make it in the Premier League. Cast. Iron. Guarantee.

Also agree with Pearce, although I try not to encourage him

Re: The Yoofs
Rice's release was nothing like most - didn't we sign him up PDQ?

Actually agreed with Jonathan Pearce last night, the football combination league was a better system than they have now.

Also agreed

Hermit

Good idea as we can then have a beer stood there watching then as well.

How do we get hold of the club and put forward our proposals?

Isn't there someone on here that is on a supporter board or something?

Re: The Yoofs
That’s a good idea but a good point about the pitch. Should look at finding a way of doing it on the full size pitch next door to the club shop

Good call. I suppose they're worried the pitch will get chopped up.

Re: The Yoofs
I wish they would play their under 23 games at say 12 pm before a 3pm kick off.

Get fans in a bit early to watch them and let them feel like they're playing at home and let's the fans chart their progress
